Information:
One of the major artists of the 20th century and inventor of metaphysical painting, Giorgio de Chirico (1888-1978) made Paris, after Rome, his city of choice. Twenty-one years after the disappearance of his wife Isabella in 1990, the Foundation Giorgio and Isa de Chirico bequeathed sixty-one works in the Museum of Modern Art. This exceptional set will be presented in the course of the collections of the Museum of Modern Art beginning November 10, 2011. It will include thirty paintings, 20 drawings, and eleven sculptures.
