Gerhard Richter | Panaroma

Information:

This retrospective celebrates the 80th anniversary of Gerhard Richter, now recognized as a major figure in contemporary painting. A classical painter in his practice of the profession and his vision of painting, he rarely gives interviews or defends his works. "I have nothing to say and I'm saying it," is a phrase of John Cage that Richter has endorsed. For this exhibition an homage is paid to the Panoramas of the 19th century where, in order to give the impression of "being there", one enters a darkened room to contemplate a painting.
