Alice Springs Retrospective
Information:
Wife of Helmut Newton, Alice Springs began her own career as a photographer in Paris in 1970. With her husband in bed with the flu she learned to handle his camera and his light meter, so she could do a photo ad for the cigarette brand Gitanes. The famous resulting portrait that is the starting point for her new career. Subsequently, she received many commissions for portraits; some have become legendary, including the "Who's Who" of the international cultural scene.
