Larmes d’Albâtre

Description: The weeping of the tomb of John the Fearless are among the masterpieces of the Burgundian sculpture of the fifteenth century. They come from the tomb of the Duke of Burgundy and his wife Margaret of Bavaria, commissioned by their son Philip the Good in 1443. 39 figures of the procession of the deceased prince are presented in a scenography highlighting the dramatic intensity but also the sensitivity of each sculpture.
